The Scottish Cot Death Trust and The Lullaby Trust

The Scottish Cot Death Trust is dedicated to saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families in Scotland. Against a background of challenging economic times and in a bid to protect the vital work of the Scottish Cot Death Trust, we have begun conversations with The Lullaby Trust to explore how joining forces might provide a sustainable option for the future.  We are incredibly proud of all that has been achieved in the 40 years since we were founded, and we believe that bringing together our combined passion, resources and expertise will strengthen and safeguard our work in Scotland for generations to come.

As part of these discussions, we are exploring the possibility of a coming together between the Scottish Cot Death Trust and The Lullaby Trust. Should this happen, our commitment is to carry forward our steadfast dedication to saving lives and supporting families, maintaining a lasting and visible presence in Scotland, and preserving a strong, authentic and meaningful Scottish identity.

In the short term, The Lullaby Trust will be assisting us in offering bereavement support for families in Scotland, ensuring no family faces grieving their baby alone. The Lullaby Trust will use our existing support network while longer-term arrangements in Scotland are explored.

We are about to start diligently exploring every aspect of one another’s work and figure out what is right for both communities. Throughout this process, please know that your voice will remain at the heart of every decision we make together, and every step we take will be guided by the needs of the families we exist to serve.

Both of our charities share the same unwavering goals and have a shared purpose at the heart of every decision – saving babies’ lives and supporting our bereaved families.

Understandably, you may have a lot of questions about the future and what this could all mean. We are still at the early stages of discussions, but we will endeavour to answer as many questions as possible as we work through this process. We hope to have a Frequently Asked Questions document available soon, but if you have any questions in the meantime, please email us at contact@scottishcotdeathtrust.org and put FAO Stephen Hart in the subject line.
