The Scottish Cot Death Trust is Scotland’s only charity dedicated to supporting families devastated by the sudden and unexpected death of a child. The Trust also funds research and increases awareness of how to reduce risks through education for professionals and parents.

We seek to recruit a highly motivated, Education Manager to join our small, friendly team. You should be educated to degree level and be willing to travel throughout Scotland regularly. You should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have specific expertise in communicating confidently and sensitively with people at all levels. In particular conveying complex but important messages in an engaging and effective manner. You should be able to work on your own initiative and have experience of managing your own time. This role requires experience in producing innovative education resources, delivering oral presentations as well as written communication, confidence in using webinar style software, website content management and social media, in particular Facebook and Twitter

This role is ideally suited to those from a clinical background although it may also appeal to those working in education or communications. A background in delivering successful projects and working with multiagency professionals is desirable as you will be solely responsible for delivery of sessions containing some complex messages. Facilitation of simulation scenarios will form part of your remit.

This is a rewarding role which you can develop to enhance the education remit of the charity. You will meet a variety of people from several agencies on a weekly basis and build important working relationships with multiple lead professionals across Scotland. By fulfilling your role you will be helping to prevent sudden infant deaths and ensuring that when they do happen those who need our help the most can benefit from it.
