The team were out and about this week as Martin, Liz, and Jacky attended The Gathering. We were lucky to win SCVO’s annual competition for an Exhibition stand in 2019, so we decided to go along for a 2nd year in a row and it was well worth it!
Organised every year by SCVO, The Gathering is the largest free voluntary sector event in the UK, a place for all the amazing people working in the charity sector to network, showcase what they do and learn from each other.
Martin, our Education Manager said ” The Gathering is a great opportunity for us at the charity to speak with a wide range of people, from health/social care professionals and those working at other small charities, to members of the general public. Networking and sharing good practice is always beneficial, but raising awareness of what we do and how we can help is crucial. We predominately attended The Gathering to promote our education work with Safe Sleep Scotland, but that didn’t stop us chatting to people about fundraising opportunities and support services such as our Next Infant Support Programme (NISP)”.
We have some spaces in the calendar for education events in March and April. If you think a Safe Sleep information session would benefit your work team or community group, please visit our Book an Education Session page.
We also have a busy period planned with fundraising events around the country and we are always looking for volunteers. Please contact Marlene at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like more information about how you can get involved to help the Scottish Cot Death Trust.
