It is with sadness that we share the news that our former Trustee and friend, Jim Gill, died on 7th April.
Jim was a Trustee from 1991-2014. Although passionate about many aspects of the charity’s work, it was research into the cause(s) of SUDI which he was most interested in. Jim was a bereaved father, his baby daughter, Lindsey, died suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep. Like so many parents, he just longed to know why his baby died.
Jim and his wife, Elspeth, had befriended many families bereaved by SUDI over the years, providing them with understanding, hope and comfort. We will remember Jim fondly for his compassion towards others.
Jim was a retired Police Inspector with Lothian and Borders police force and it was his personal experience as a bereaved father and expertise as a former Police Inspector, that he brought to our Board of Trustees.
Jim’s funeral will only be attended by his immediate family due to the pandemic. For anyone wishing to pay their respects, you can find details of the virtual link at:
Our thoughts are with Elspeth and the family.
