SCDT Bake Off Challenge – September and October
1st September - 31st October
Scottish Cot Death Trust Bake Off Challenge!
On your marks, get set…bake!
Do you love The Great British Bake Off? Fancy yourself as a star baker and want to support Scottish Cot Death Trust? Then take part in the SCDT Bake Off!
Rise to the challenge by holding a Bake Off or Bake Sale throughout September and October, and help raise lots of dough for Scottish Cot Death Trust.
How does it work?
Throughout September and October, we want to see as much baking as possible, you can get involved by doing one of the following:
-
Start a Bake Off challenge with your colleagues, friends or family. Decide your judging categories (Cake, Biscuit, Bread, Chocolate, Pastry, Tray Bake, Dessert week, and/or your ‘signature bake’!) and simply ask for a suggested donation to take part. Sign up bakers to bring in their baking on your Bake Off day. Lay the cakes out anonymously, with a number alongside them. Now for the fun bit – tasting! Sell a small bit of each cake and let everyone vote on each cake they try. Count up the votes and find the champion baker – don’t forget to send us your photos!
-
Or why not just host a traditional bake sale? Sell your goodies over a coffee break at work, at school or college, coffee morning with your neighbours and friends, at a Baby & Toddler group, at your local sports club, as part of any community group meeting e.g., WRI, Brownies, Guides, Scouts etc.
Raise lots of dough!
-
Persuade your bakers to write up their recipes and sell them next to their bakes.
-
Fill a jar with cookies and charge people per go to guess how many there are. The winner wins the jar and its contents!
-
Bake a huge cake and ask people to guess its weight. You can charge per guess and the winner gets the cake to take home.
