Leeanne’s Story
“Alison was 8 months old when she died. She had a proper personality; she knew what she wanted and had everyone wrapped round her little finger. Our families were devastated the morning Alison died. There are no words for the pain of that morning. Becoming a befriender has been a great experience. For me, there’s a healing in being able to listen and hear and let a mum know that what she is feeling is normal and I felt these things too. The Trust is important to me in many ways, one being that it educates new parents and professionals, and offers information on how to prevent a loss like mine. This is also why people need to continue to support the Trust.”
