Continuing with Child Safety Week

The weather has been warming up across Scotland recently but, whatever the weather outside, it’s important to remember that young babies under 3 months old are not able to regulate their temperature very well. This function develops as they grow, but until then you have to make choices to ensure your baby is sleeping in a room of the ideal temperature, between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius. Making sure they are dressed with the correct number and types of layers appropriate for the temperature of the environment that they are in, is also important to prevent overheating. Our handy temperature chart gives you recommendations on which clothing and bedding is most appropriate to use. These are useful for families at home or for early years environments, and can be found on our online shop. https://scottishcotdeathtrust.org/shop-support-resources/
