Safe Sleep Scotland training is available to book now – don’t miss out!
This year we’ve already spoken to over 750 nursery staff, childminders, midwives, students, health visitors and community support workers across Scotland to discuss the importance of safe sleep.
In Scotland, a baby’s life is lost suddenly and unexpectedly every 9 days. Our goal is to raise awareness of the risks associated with sudden and unexpected death in infancy (SUDI) and ultimately eliminate these risks from happening. By following Safe Sleep guidance and taking part in this session, you can help to ensure that babies are getting the safest sleep possible and that families feel informed and empowered by having future discussions with you about the safe sleep messages.
Here is a snapshot of feedback we’ve received about our training sessions…
“I really enjoyed the session and feel much more confident speaking to parents and carers about SUDI, thank you.” Lauren, Childminder
“I thought the session was very informative and also handled really sensitively.” Sharon, college student studying Childcare
“I am excited to be able to deliver the evidence based advice highlighted in the session” Margaret, Health Visitor
“Some of the practices are different now compared to when I had my own children and its imperative that as a professional dealing with younger children to support any parent who may ask and provide essential backup information as to why we do things a certain way nowadays i.e. having baby sleep on their back and not using cot bumpers.” Natalie, Early Years practitioner
Sessions usually last around 90 minutes and we are flexible with dates/times to suit your needs. We also have leaflets and resources which we can provide that can help you start conversations about Safe Sleep with new parents or carers. To find out more, Book a session by completing the form on our website.
We can’t wait to meet you and get you booked in the diary!
