Work with Us

Join our Board of Trustees

Scottish Cot Death Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for the strategic oversight of the charity.  The Board work closely with the Executive Director and wider staff team to ensure the Trust delivers on its three key areas of work; bereavement care for those affected by the sudden unexpected death of a child; education and awareness raising; and research.

We are looking for new Trustees to join our highly skilled and diverse Board and would particularly welcome applications from those with experience in finance, fundraising, HR or data protection.  You do not need to have been a trustee before.

As a Trustee you will:

  • Be an ambassador for Scottish Cot Death Trust and for our work
  • Help shape the strategic direction of Scottish Cot Death Trust
  • Make sure Scottish Cot Death Trust has policies in place that comply with current legislation and promote good practice
  • Make sure that staff, money and other resources are used appropriately, and that this is always monitored properly
  • Support the income generation and outward facing activities of the charity
  • Participate in the cycle of meetings and make sure that decisions taken at meetings are implemented
